On Stage 2017!

Last Saturday was one of the most exciting days in the Stampin’ Up calendar, one of the twice-yearly gathering of demonstrators at On Stage. It’s a mixture of previews and demonstrations of new products ahead of the next mini catalogue realease in the new year, a chance to catch up with fellow demonstrators from across the country, make new friends and swap samples of their creations to inspire each other !

This was my swap to share with others, using the terrific Cat punch, Hometown Greetings framelits, Embossing Paste with the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and the Hearth and Home framelits.

I hope you think it’s cute? It works as a Christmas card, but could be adapted and used for any occasion for a cat lover!

We usually add our contact details and the ‘recipe’ of materials we’ve used, as it’s an opportunity to share a new idea or our own personal twist on the products.

These are the swaps I received in return, I think they’re awesome:-

I also made up little gifts for my fellow team members, it’s all in the packaging!

Some plain metallic business card holders, with an added cup of coffee, wrapped up in autumnal gift bags made from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper with a sparkly tag 😁.

Attending On Stage is available to all current demonstrators whether they are running and building a business, or purely a hobbyist enjoying the discount on products that being a demonstrator offer’s.

Places are limited and much in demand and apparently we are as enthusiastic as Americans when we get excited about new products or techniques that we see!

Just let me know if you’d like to know more about joining up as a demonstrator, it’s such a fun opportunity to share craft time with other enthusiasts! X

Which camp are you in for Christmas?

Do you like to be super-organised and have a schedule of things to be ready, or are you a last-minute rusher?

I know some Crafters are thinking about Christmas and are making their Christmas cards during their summer holidays, others are having a last minute panic!

Having my birthday at the end of November, I’ve always tried to not think about doing any Christmas preparation until after my birthday, so that I can enjoy my special day properly. With a family to plan for, I’ve now started to think a bit earlier and have a schedule of things to prepare for!

Making your own Christmas cards can be so rewarding, and with the trend heading away from big spending, it’s often appreciated to receive something handmade and thoughtful.

They don’t have to be time consuming and complicated, all of the stamp sets we use can create something clean and simple, or stepped up to make something special

If you feel like having a try at making your own Christmas creations, just get in touch; there’s some gorgeous simple kits available to help get you started without a big outlay on materials, just to wet your crafting appetite!

Hi Everyone, I’m back!

I’m having another steep learning curve into the world of blogs, websites and other computery stuff!  Any of you who know me will realise I’m not particularly computer savvy, so I’m hoping this new blog will be user friendly and you’ll enjoy coming to visit from time to time!

We have been loving all things autumnal at Card Club this month, with autumn leaves, sunflowers, pumpkins and a hint of Halloween :0)

Apples for the Teacher!

It’s coming to the end of the school year, so I’m lucky to be the one who makes Thank You cards for the school staff, it’s one of my roles which I “have” to do! Such a chore 😉. The children all receive a set of stickers which they can sign and add messages to, which are then placed inside the cards. They look great when finished!

The new Bike Ride bundle of stamps and co-ordinating dies makes creations like these so easy, as soon as I saw the stack of books and apples in this set I knew this year’s cards for the teachers had to use them!

The amazing brickwork texture has been added by Embossing Paste and the Pattern Party Decorative Masks which are a new addition to the Stampin’ Up! catalogue. It’s so easy to use, dries really quickly and can be used with any stencils you may have. It can even be coloured with the ink refills for a co-ordinated effect 😁

The lovely tree through the walled garden window is a returning favourite, Sheltering Tree, it’s another versatile set that can be adapted for all seasons

To purchase any of these items or ask me more about my classes please get in touch xx

Manly makes!

I don’t know about you, but I always used to struggle to find a nice Fathers Day Card for my Dad. They were always a bit cheesy or cheeky and not really his cup of tea.
I love being able to make my own cards now, sadly not for my own Dad who is no longer here, but for my children to give to their Dad, and this year’s Stampin’ Up Seasonal Catalogue has some great modern and bold stamp sets which are perfect to create something fun for Fathers Day, or even a masculine birthday card.

Urban District contains these detailed letters which I have heat embossed to give a raised image perfect for colouring a few feature details. The stamp set comes as either wood-mounted or clear mount so they can come with their own blocks if needed.

The amazing textured hexagon effect was created with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on silver foil cardstock to give a lovely deep texture.

You can’t go far wrong with a tool kit either, if the man in your life is a bit of a handyman!

Nailed It sums it up perfectly! The box was made using the scoring board to perfectly fit a sweet treat (yes, that’s a chocolate set of pliers!)

The set was launched as a bundle with co-ordinating dies to cut them out perfectly, but the images are simple enough to hand cut or, as one of the bookmark shows, to stamp and colour in on a single sheet.

Both the Urban District and Nailed It sets are now on the retiring list so they will not be available to buy after the new catalogue launches on June 1st so snap them up now if they are on your must-have list! The Build It Framelits dies have sadly sold out already, so you’ll have to book into one of my classes this week to get to create your projects with them, they’re such good fun!

If the man in your life is a bit more academic, the  Bookcase Builder stamp set could be right up your alley!

There’s 27 stamps to cover all occasions so it’s really versatile to create cards for any occasion, new baby, good luck for examinations, or congratulations for results!

Class dates for this week are listed as events on my Facebook page, ‘Ellie’s Card Club’ so book in to save your seat!

Items can be ordered directly via my Shop using the Hostess Code for May 3FGUACJ4, any orders placed will get a little extra something from me!

Eastern Palace Suite

So last night was a gathering of crafters to introduce one of the new Suites which has been released as an early teaser of the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue, going live on June 1st

This is what we’ve created, the evening flew by and we’ve had so much fun!

There’s so many different options for what you can create, we’ve barely even started!!

Changing the colours and adding layers or more stamping and the cards are completely different!

Having a play with the dies to show how many possibilities there are to create different patterns, I’ve got to 49, without even starting to introduce circle cutouts or layers!  Again adding different colours will add a completely different dimension to your project!

The Suite is available to you this month as two bundle options: the starter bundle which gives you the stamp set, sheets of delightful gold stickers, 3 of the new In-Colour ink pads (aren’t they fabulous?!), the patterned Designer Series Paper sheets and Very Vanilla notecards and envelopes:

And there’s the Premier bundle for those of you with a Big Shot which will also give you the amazing dies, some beautiful tassels, a pack of co-ordinating plain card stock, the new Very Vanilla thick A4 cardstock and C6 envelopes:

The set is so versatile I can see it’s going to be really popular, so why not get ahead and order it this month and get creative?

It can be ordered directly through my Shop on the Stampin’ Up! website using my Hostess code for May which is 3FGUACJ4, or just get in touch to ask me more!

On Stage Live, Amsterdam April 6-8th 2017

Wow! What a fun packed 3 days we’ve just had!

On Stage is the twice-yearly Stampin’ Up! Convention where demonstrators can get together, share ideas with each other and get new information and catalogues hot off the press. Our usual location is Telford Convention Centre for a one-day event, but Stampin’ Up is a global company so the location for the bigger three-day Live event rotates around the continents so this time Europe hosted the big event in Amsterdam!

There were around 900 other demonstrators attending this event and it ran very smoothly, with display boards of new products, plus sample cards and other products made with them, showcase demonstrations from European demonstrators and staff members from SU! Head Office.

We had the chance to make some swaps to take along and share with other demonstrators; this is what I made as my swap:-

These are little charms made by die-cutting shrinking plastic with the Butterflies and T-shirt thinlits, adding colour from SU!’s classic pads before shrinking, well worth the effort!

I got a great stash of swaps in return!

I also made some little gifts for the team I travelled and stayed with; the Inspirationals

I was blessed with some amazing treats in return!

It really feels as though I’m part of a wonderful crafting family, the relationships we build over the years are priceless. Any current demonstrator can attend these events, so why not consider joining in the fun?!

More Chickens!

So this week the Brownies and Guides have been making these for their Easter  crafting session!

All the pieces were pre-cut (for 54 kits!!!) so the girls just had to stick them together and colour their chickens and eggs.  There’s room for quite a bit of chocolate in those chicken houses!!

The Hey Chick stamp set provided our feathered friends; they can be yours for free with a qualifying spend!  I’ve still got my hostess code NVE9V3KJ open until 10.30pm tomorrow, so if any of you have a sudden urge to grab those freebies I can place an order tomorrow evening, before Salebration comes to an end xx

Chickens and chocolate!

A great combination for our Easter creations!

We’ve mixed and matched a few different products this month to showcase what is available in the Spring/Summer catalogue and some of the fabulous free items available in the Salebration catalogue with any qualifying spend.

The glimmer paper and chickens are both free and compliment other products beautifully.

The flowers are created with the Stylish Stems framelits, so simple and pretty and great for any occasion! Hello You thinlits added the sentiment 😃

The chicken lives in the Hey Chick Salebration stamp set and his house on the card and 3D box are made using the Home Sweet Home thinlits and Sweet Home stamp set. I love how versatile this set is, from Haunted Houses, to Christmas cottages, to Gingerbread houses to Chicken Sheds!

The chicken wire effect was created using the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder as a stamp instead of embossing with it!  Watch this space, it’ll be back in all of it’s texturing glory soon!

The cute little tags are another amazingly versatile set in the Spring / Summer Catalogue;  the That’s the Tag Stamp set bundled with the Timeless Tags thinlits. Don’t forget bundles save you 10%!

Stampin’ Up! Continues to break ground here in the U.K., they’ve recently received two awards!

I’m proud to be part of the Stampin’ Up! Family! Xx
